“Strength Within, Reach Beyond”: Puja Garg Reflects on Her Journey as FLO National President

Lucknow – Puja Garg, the 43rd National President of the FICCI Ladies Organisation, delivered an inspiring and deeply personal address, reflecting on her journey from a founding member of the Lucknow chapter to leading the national body.

Speaking at a recent gathering, Garg began with a note of humility and gratitude. “Good evening everyone. As I stand here today, having just assumed office as the 43rd National President, I cannot help but reflect on how unexpectedly this journey began,” she said.

A Journey That Began with Participation

Recounting her early association with FLO, Garg shared that she joined the Lucknow chapter in 2015 as a founding member, drawn by the opportunity to learn, connect, and grow.

“I joined simply because it felt like a meaningful space,” she recalled.

Describing the launch event of the Lucknow chapter, she painted a vivid picture of a dynamic and bustling atmosphere. “There was a great deal of activity that day. Leaders from the national body were present, the Chief Minister had arrived, and the room was filled with energy,” she said.

Despite having no formal role, Garg instinctively stepped in to assist with organizing and guiding guests. “I was simply there as a member. But when I saw things happening, I stepped in wherever I could. Nothing extraordinary—just participation,” she added.

That small act, however, became a turning point. “Sometimes in life, the smallest acts quietly shape the biggest journeys,” she said, noting that her efforts were noticed and she was soon entrusted with greater responsibilities, including heading the event the following year.

From Member to Leader

Over the years, Garg’s involvement deepened as she took on multiple roles within FLO. “One responsibility led to another, one year led to the next, and FLO became far more than just an organization I was part of. It became something I deeply believed in,” she said.

In 2020, she served as Chairperson of the FLO Lucknow Chapter—a tenure marked by unprecedented challenges. “It was a year that tested leadership in every way,” she said, referring to the global disruptions of that time.

Despite the challenges, the chapter stood strong. “Even in uncertainty, our chapter came together with remarkable commitment, and our work received recognition for the initiatives we carried forward,” she noted.

A Transformational Experience

Reflecting on her journey, Garg emphasized that her growth through FLO has been both personal and professional.

“The person who walked into FLO 11 years ago is very different from the person standing here today,” she said.

“FLO gave me confidence. It gave me perspective. It gave me a voice. And most importantly, it gave me the opportunity to contribute.”

She highlighted that FLO’s true strength lies not in titles or positions but in the collective spirit of its members. “FLO is built by women who show up, who participate, and who believe in lifting each other,” she said.

Gratitude to Her ‘Mother Chapter’

Calling Lucknow her “mother chapter,” Garg expressed deep appreciation for the women who shaped her journey.

“I stand here with a deep acknowledgement of the women from Lucknow who taught me to think with vision, to work with commitment, and to lead with grace,” she said.

She also expressed confidence in the current leadership of the Lucknow chapter, noting that it is in capable hands with a strong and experienced team.

Confidence in Leadership and Team Strength

Garg acknowledged key members of the governing body, including Madhurii Halwasiya, Swati Verma, Anju Narayan, and Arushi Kandpal.

“I am confident that with such capable leadership, supported by a strong past chairpersons’ council and an experienced network, the chapter will continue to grow with purpose and impact,” she said.

She also praised the energy and ambition of FLO members. “It makes me proud to see a community of dynamic women who carry ambition, energy, and the courage to dream bigger,” she added.

A Full Circle Moment with Kiran Bedi

One of the most emotional highlights of her address was recalling the association with Dr. Kiran Bedi.

“In 2020, during my tenure as Chairperson, we had the honour of hosting her for an online session. And today, to welcome her in person, when I stand here as National President, feels like a full circle moment,” Garg said.

“It is always a privilege to hear you and learn from your journey,” she added, addressing Dr. Bedi.

Guiding Vision: Strength Within, Reach Beyond

Outlining her vision for the year ahead, Garg shared a simple yet powerful guiding thought: “Strength within, reach beyond.”

“To lead with sincerity, to listen with openness, and to work together to strengthen this organization we all deeply believe in,” she said.

Her vision underscores collaboration, inclusivity, and continuous growth as the foundation for FLO’s future initiatives.

A Message of Limitless Possibilities

Concluding her address, Garg left the audience with an inspiring thought that reflects her belief in boundless potential.

“They say, ‘show me the ceiling,’ but I see no ceiling—only the sky,” she said.

“Together, we rise to limitless possibilities.”

Her journey from a participating member to National President stands as a testament to the power of initiative, perseverance, and community—values that continue to define the spirit of FLO.
